Kerry started her childcare career helping out in the Laceby Acres committee based preschool in 1998 when her own children were attending, eventually gaining Childcare, Playwork and NVQ assessor qualifications.
The committee folded and this led to Kerry creating Precious Times Childcare Services in 2003. In 2009 Kerry successfully tendered to run daycare within Yarborough Academy until February 2016 when another successful tender was completed to open Riverside at its current location.
Kerry is passionate about her role in childcare and playwork, working across both settings with the children and staff at the very heart of the company ensuring they are able to flourish .
Kerry is married to Mark. They have four grown up children and in their spare time enjoys long country walks and weekends away with family and friends.
Manager Laceby Acres
Kerry joined the team in 2002 when the Pre School was sited in the main school building, during her time her she has seen many changes finally ending up in their own purpose built building on the school site.
Kerry worked in two previous childcare settings after gaining her Diploma in Nursery Nursing in 2000 before starting at Precious Times where she has since completed her level 4 in Children's Care, Learning and Development in 2009 and a Foundation Degree in Early Years in 2012
Kerry has completed various additional courses and is qualified in First Aid, Safeguarding and Food hygiene to name a few.
Kerry has 2 children and loves spending time with them on her days off and at weekends. Kerry enjoys going on holidays, shopping and going to the gym
Helen joined the team in 2012, having previously managed two full day care Nurseries. She has worked in childcare since qualifying with a BTEC National Diploma in Childhood Studies from Boston College in 1999. In 2015 she completed her Foundation Degree in Early Years through The Open University.
Helen is passionate about doing her very best for each and every child attending and loves to see them all grow and develop.
Helen has completed a wide variety of different additional courses over the years and is a qualified first aider as well as having level 2 safeguarding.
She moved to Grimsby from Horncastle after meeting her husband in 2010, they got married in 2012 and now have a daughter. Helen loves spending time with her family at the weekends, cooking, baking and has recently taken up knitting.
Deputy Manager Riverside
Vicki joined the team in 2012 after moving back to the area following 10 years living away, to be closer to her family. Vicki first qualified in Glasgow in 2006 and went onto complete her BA Honours in Childcare in 2010.
Vicki has worked in a range of Early Years settings and has experience in both schools and private daycare settings. She is extremely passionate about providing the best learning opportunities for children to ensure they progress well and succeed in their later education
Vicki has completed various additional courses since qualifying such as safeguarding level 1 & 2, Equality and Diversity, Food Hygiene and is a trained First aider.
Vicki enjoys playing sudoku, going to the gym and recently completed the Midlands Tough Mudder Challenge.
Deputy Manager Laceby Acres
Cheryl joined the team in 2007 as a temporary bank staff, which quickly led to a full time, permanent position after completing her childcare qualification.
Cheryl then took on the role Special Educational Needs Co-Ordinator at the Riverside setting which was a role in which she flourished and gained lots of knowledge. Cheryl was keen to further her career and gain more knowledge and so completed her BA Hons Degree at Bishop Grosseteste University in Lincoln. In 2015 she was offered the position of Deputy Manager at the Laceby Acres setting.
Cheryl continues her SENCO role now overseeing both settings supporting children with Special Educational Needs. She is very passionate about this, attending regular cluster training to keep her up to date with this and to feedback to staff members. During her time, she has also attended a variety of different training courses including food hygiene, safeguarding level 2 and first aid.
Away from work Cheryl loves spending time with family and close friends and is often at the gym, especially now she has a weekly personal trainer. She also enjoys foreign holidays in the sun!
Out Of School Club Manager
Linda joined the team in 2005 as a Nursery Assistant at our Laceby Acres site. She helped in the setup of the Out of School club at Laceby Acres and then at Riverside in 2009.
Linda qualified with a BTEC National Diploma in Childhood Studies in 1997 and has worked in a variety of childcare jobs since then. These include Nursery Nurse in Foundation Stage class, support assistant for a child with additional needs and working on the children's ward in hospital. These varied roles have given Linda a wealth of knowledge around child protection, life altering illnesses and child development.
Linda has done a variety of additional courses during her time with us, she is a qualified first aider, has level 2 in Safeguarding and has completed some modules in the level 5 Management course.
Linda is married and has 2 sons. She is a massive 'geek' and you will often find her, and her family dressed up at local Comic-Con events. She volunteers at these events and she has met many famous faces over the years. Linda is also a registered SANDS fundraiser and is often busy knitting for a local premature baby charity which is a subject close to her heart.
